The Green School Programme is a year-long programme that gives students regular insight into eco-dynamics and the overall environmental challenges faced at the global and regional levels. The programme inculcates and fosters a sense of civic responsibility amongst students for reducing their ecological footprint. It engages students and teachers in a structured environmental awareness.

Green Schools Programme is an environmental education programme directed to subtly sensitize students to the environment through hands-on and thought-provoking activities like Poster making on Water conservation, Save soil, Surveys by the students to check method adopted for pollution control, parameters to check Electricity consumption and method to save it. GSP inculcates the values of resource management, empowers students to use natural resources in a responsible and efficient manner and practice effective and sustainable methods that will become a way of life.

The school has been running its Green Programme under the five sustainability parameters –
Air, Water, Waste, Land, Energy and Food.
Celebration of birthdays by gifting saplings, ban on polythene bags, growing plants on Van mohatsava, pooling system are some key rules engraved deeply in the minds of all students.

Introducing Abacus based Learning at Our School

We are thrilled to announce the launch of Abacus classes at our school, a new initiative aimed at enhancing our students’ cognitive and numerical skills in an engaging and holistic manner. Abacus is not just a tool for arithmetic; it is a scientifically proven technique that strengthens brain development, especially in young children. Recognizing the multiple benefits of Abacus learning, our school is integrating it into our curriculum to give students a strong foundation in mental mathematics and overall brain function.

What is Abacus?
The Abacus is an ancient counting tool that originated in Asia and has been used for centuries to perform basic arithmetic operations like addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. While it appears simple, the Abacus trains students to visualize numbers and calculate mentally with speed and accuracy. As children advance, they learn to move the beads mentally—a process known as visualization or mind math—which significantly enhances concentration and memory.

Benefits of Abacus Learning

Improves Concentration
Abacus training requires children to focus deeply while solving problems. This consistent practice greatly improves their concentration and attention span, skills that are essential for success in all subjects.

Enhances Memory and Retention
While solving arithmetic problems, students visualize the Abacus and remember bead positions. This activates both sides of the brain, especially the visual and memory centers, leading to enhanced short-term and long-term memory.

TED-Ed Student Talks program at BCM ARYA SCHOOL,LALTON supports students and teachers to meet regularly to discuss, debate and explore ideas. This program provides a forum for students to develop, present and record their own original ideas in the form of short TED Talk-style presentations.

The GLOBE (Global Learning and Observations to Benefit the Environment) Program is an international science and education program that focuses on promoting scientific literacy and building connections between people passionate about the environment. Through activities held under the GLOBE Program, students and teachers can connect with global community.

Our school is registered for the MSS Program, via NCFE. This is an initiative of the NCFE to provide unbiased financial education in schools for improving financial literacy which is an important life-skill for holistic development of each student. The program is based on two pillars: Education and Awareness, and aims to establish a sustainable financial literacy campaign that will empower an entire generation. NCFE will provide the study material to students. School will conduct the exam of students and school will be recognised as certified Money Smart School.

The programme symbolises a whole-of-society approach to empowerment through access and opportunities of education, particularly to students belonging to economically disadvantaged sections as envisioned in NEP 2020.
